“America: The Dream Goes On” Concert

June 26, 2022 @ 3:00 pm

Stafford Regional Choral Society (SRCS) will present “America: The Dream Goes On,” a program of patriotic music, on Saturday, June 25, 2022, at 7:00 p.m. at Saint Peter’s Lutheran Church (1201 Courthouse Road, Stafford) and on Sunday, June 26, 2022, at 3:00 p.m. at the National Museum of the Marine Corps, (18900 Jefferson Davis Hwy, Triangle). The concerts are free to the public.

SRCS is thrilled to close its concert season with their third performance since the pandemic. “America: The Dream Goes On” is a choral concert celebrating the music of America with songs such as “Strike Up the Band,” “This Is My Country,” and “When the Saints Go Marchin’ In,” as well as medleys of familiar patriotic tunes and a salute to our Armed Forces. The concert features a full program of live choral music and a small selection of soloists, including a performance by one of the group’s 2022 scholarship recipients. “I am deeply honored to be able to direct this group of dedicated singers,” said Artistic and Music Director Jason Michael. “It’s a great pleasure presenting a full program of live music to the greater Stafford area after a two year hiatus due to the pandemic ” The live chorus will be accompanied by Pati Dunn, pianist; Lauren Black, bassist; and Kevin Taylor, percussionist.

A freewill donation will be collected during the concert on June 25th to support the SRCS Scholarship Program, which awards outstanding, local high school pianists, instrumentalists, and vocalists who plan to continue music performance in college. SRCS recently awarded its 2022 scholarships to McKenna Connally, flutist, and Victoria Lynch, vocalist.

The Stafford Regional Choral Society is a 501(c)(3) organization, under the direction of Jason J. Michael. Founded in 2001, the chorus of singers from Stafford and the surrounding area promotes choral music and performing arts education through its annual three-concert season.
