Fredericksburg First Friday
May 5, 2023 @ 5:00 pm - 9:00 pm
FXBG First Friday is an event that happens on the first Friday of every month that celebrates the amazing art, community, and vibrancy of Downtown Fredericksburg. It is a collaboration between galleries and art events, retailers, restaurants, and nonprofits in the downtown district that works to showcase the art in all we do.
Visit Downtown Fredericksburg on the first Friday of each month and join us to celebrate all of downtown’s art and community. Hop on the free trolley and visit the wide variety of art galleries and studios to see what new work is being featured for the month. Grab a drink from a local restaurant and check out any of the wonderful downtown shops, many of which are open late for First Friday. Stroll throughout town and experience different street performances, join in the art activities provided by local nonprofits, and more!
**The Fredericksburg Area Museum (FAM) will be open for First Friday on May 5th, from 5:00- 9:00pm. Guests are invited to view 3 new exhibits, including Seen: Viewing the Work of African American Artists of Fredericksburg. This exhibit features the work of nine artists with deep ties to the Fredericksburg region as well as the Harambee 360 Degrees Interpretive theater project that was started by Clarence Todd in the mid 1970’s. Some artists will be present to meet the
public at this event. Admission during First Friday is free.
From 5pm to 9pm during every First Friday, adults aged 21+ can purchase a beer, wine or cocktail at a participating restaurant and enjoy it while strolling within the marked boundaries Downtown. See the Sip and Stroll link below for additional details on Sip and Stroll!
