Girl Scouts Fishing Day

Girl Scouts love fishing at Widewater! Join rangers along Aquia Creek to learn the fundamentals to get started with one of the most popular outdoor activities. From tying a knot and baiting a hook to casting out a line, scouts will be able to try their luck on reeling in a catch.
- Rods, reels, and bait are all provided by the Friends of Widewater and the Department of Wildlife Resources, but participants may bring their own equipment.
- A valid Virginia fishing license is required for those age 16 and older who would like to fish. Licenses can be purchased at the Visitor Center or online.
