Join the fun, frivolity and contests in Beaverdam, VA, on the Fairgrounds of the Ladysmith Ruritan Club, Saturday, June 4th, from 10am-6pm. The Nashville recording artists Chris Ryan Band will be performing sets throughout the day, Team Carolina BBQ, Maria’s Apple Cider Doughnuts, D’Water Ice D’lights and The Lucky Duck Food Truck will be selling a variety of great specialty foods and snacks. But we also have events. Hurry and sign up to be the Grand Champion BBQer of Caroline County, winning a trophy and cash prize, by entering our BBQ Competition. Do you fancy yourself as an eater, not a cooker? We have two food eating competitions with Trophies and Prizes from the Pie Eating Contest to the Hot Dog Eating Contest. From Flea Market style set ups, to entrepreneurs, crafts, homemade goods, food and more, all in Marketplace row. You want more? We have it. How about something for the kids? A Bounce House, coloring stations, mini contests and field games. We will have a dunk tank, with some very special guests hoping on the plank for you to send to a watery plunge. Yes, Ladysmith Ruritan’s are well known for their Polar Plunge, this plunge could be just as fun. Bring a lawn chair, make a day of it. Cold Beer, Wine, Water will be available. Why this event is important to us? Because the Ladysmith Ruritan Club, like all of our Ruritan brothers and sisters, use proceeds of these events to help those less fortunate, celebrate those who give a little more, by infusing investments into the local community. We have supported Food Banks, local organizations, families, provided scholarships and this coming year will house The Caroline County Dramatic Society, Drive-In Movies, Craft Demonstrations, Camp Overs, Bingo events, and Octoberfest and Ren Faire weekend, a young people’s fishing tournament on our lake, along with all of the events you already know us for. We are going to give our children and adolescents a safe environment to unplug from their devices and engage in fun with their new friends in a peaceful, safe, environment.  We’re even looking for sponsors, also on the website.
