Join the University of Mary Washington as they welcome York College of Pennsylvania Assistant Professor of History Dr. Jacqueline Beatty, author of IN DEPENDENCE: Women and the Patriarchal State in Revolutionary America. Dr. Beatty illustrates the everyday lives of women in the era of the American Revolution who asserted their status as dependents, demanding the protections owed to them as the assumed subordinates of men.
